Precipitation will taper off by early Wednesday morning," the weather service said concerning Litchfield County.

"Today is a *First Alert Weather Day* as snow and an icy mix will lead to slick travel this afternoon and evening," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for our northern four counties and the northern sections of the four southern counties beginning around 10am this morning. Snow will move in from the southwest by mid to late morning, and by noon most of Connecticut will see snow. A coating to an inch of snow will be possible before being washed away. From south to north, the snow will briefly mix before changing over to plain rain. Across the Northwest and Northeast Hills, however, an icy mix is expected to linger into the evening, leading to slick travel conditions. A glaze of ice is most likely across the Litchfield Hills, but some isolated icy patches are possible elsewhere away from the Sound."
