Liberty Bank Goes High Tech With Its ATM Fleet In Connecticut
Libery Bank has a whole new fleet of ATM machines in Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — Middletown-based Liberty Bank Tuesday announced that it has successfully completed the network-wide replacement of the bank's 63 automated teller machines with a "faster, modern and more reliable network of banking machines."
It's been a process that took months to finish, the bank's top executive said.
"At Liberty Bank, we strive to deliver extraordinary customer experiences to ensure our customers have access to not only best-in-class products and services but also the latest industry leading technology," Liberty Bank President and CEO David W. Glidden said. "The Liberty team worked tirelessly over the past several months planning, testing and replacing our 63 ATMs with the kind of faster, state-of-the-art and relied upon machines our customers want to conduct their banking transactions."

In addition to the "standard functionalities" Liberty ATMs have "always offered," transactions at the new ATMs are 20 to 30 seconds faster, Glidden said.
Customers can now choose denominations when withdrawing cash, he said. For example, rather than relying on the default setting for determining the denominations they will receive, the customer now have the option to select 50-, 20- or 10-dollar bills.

The Liberty ATMs also have the ‘card before cash’ feature to ensure customers do not leave their card when they are finished making a transaction, Glidden said.
The new ATMs offer "enhanced safety and security" around the machines with improved video coverage, he added.
Future enhancements will include interactive teller machine capabilities and contactless card readers.
"Our goal from the very beginning of the ATM fleet replacement project was to implement a long-term and dependable solution. We could no longer rely on our previous approach that was to fix our ATMs as we went along," said Hope Utterbeck, Liberty's executive vice President and chief Information Officer. "We activated teammates from 12 different departments to bring this important project to reality through an innovative, forward-looking approach that will benefit our customers and teammates for years to come."
Liberty Bank partnered with Cardtronics, a managed service provider, who will provide end-to-end support for the ATMs.
