Popular TV News Anchor Takes On New Role At CT Station

The veteran TV journalist has been with the Connecticut station since 2015.

WFSB-TV's Roger Susanin, who has been a weekend early morning anchor, announced he's taking on a new role at the station.

Susanin, who is married to WFSB's Stephanie Simoni, said he "will be anchoring and launching new Monday-Friday shows" at the station in the near future.

"I’ll share those details soon but today I just want to thank all of my great Weekend AM teammates!" Susanin wrote on Facebook.

The move to weekdays is just the latest promotion for the veteran TV journalist, who became an anchor in 2022.

Before joining Channel 3, Susanin has had stints at stations in Nashville, Tennessee, and Little Rock, Arkansas, among others, according to his bio.

He has also earned awards for his breaking news coverage and investigative stories.

Fans and colleagues offered Susanin congratulations on the move.

"So happy to hear!" one fan wrote. "It’s about time your personlity and talent are being recognized."

Another wrote, "So happy for you! Glad you’ll be home on the weekends for family time. For a minute I thought you were leaving, very glad that’s not the case."
