School Bus Hits Pedestrian In Waterbury
Police describe the pedestrian's injuries as "serious."

WATERBURY, CT — A school bus struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Harpers Ferry Road and East Main Street Wednesday morning, police said.
The pedestrian, a 73-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.
Police said the accident happened Wednesday around 8:23 a.m.

At the time, there were five students riding on the bus. The bus driver and the students were not injured, police said.
The pedestrian as of Wednesday afternoon was listed in “stable” condition, and his injuries are not life-threatening, according to police.

While the roadway was closed early Wednesday during an investigation, police said it has since reopened to traffic.
