Several Snow Chances Upcoming, Including One That Could Bring 'Heavy Snow' To CT
Are you ready for more snow, including potentially a significant storm for CT? Here are new details on the active weather pattern.
While Connecticut is currently enjoying mild temperatures, meteorologists say wintry weather is in the seven-day forecast, including a chance for heavy snow.
WTNH reports the state will experience an “active stretch of wintry weather,” with systems on Wednesday, and again on Friday and Saturday.
These could bring “periods of rain, snow and mixed precipitation,” according to WTNH. A potential coastal storm may impact Connecticut early next week, according to meteorologists.

WTNH predicts rain and freezing rain will develop in the morning on Wednesday, changing to rain and fog around the middle of the day. According to the station, rain will change over to a wintry mix and snow from north to south, then will end Wednesday night.
The northern third of Connecticut can expect between one and two inches of precipitation, according to WTNH.
WFSB is calling Wednesday a “First Alert Weather Day,” and it predicts a wintry mix in the morning, changing over to rain through most of the day.
The rain/snow line will drop through Massachusetts, flipping the rain to a wintry mix and snow in northern Connecticut by the evening, according to WFSB. If cold air moves in sooner, the flip could impact more of the state.
“Some accumulation is possible closer to the MA border (coating to 2″),” WFSB reports.
A second system arrives Friday
WTNH predicts snow and a wintry mix will arrive by early afternoon on Friday, and it will be windy. Light snow is possible overnight, and then the snow will taper off early Saturday.
WFSB is calling Friday another “First Alert Weather Day” due to snow, a wintry mix and rain, which could impact the commute, especially in the evening, WFSB reports.
Tracking a potential large storm late this weekend
Meteorologists at multiple outlets are watching a potential coastal storm that could mean significant snowfall early next week.
“We all need to watch the Sunday night-Monday time frame for what could be a large coastal storm with heavy wet snow and strong wind gusts,” WTNH reports.

WFSB meteorologists say they are watching Monday closely, but forecast models are not in alignment yet.
“Some model guidance is showing a coastal storm nearby, some models aren’t,” WFSB reports. “For now, we think things will at least be a bit colder, with highs in the lower half of the 30s. Be sure to check back as this is an evolving situation.”
