Timeline For Thunderstorms Released As Wild Temperature Swings In CT Forecast

April showers and big temperature changes are expected in the coming days in Connecticut, with some thunderstorms possible, according to meteorologists.
The National Weather Service in New York predicts a few passing showers into this afternoon, followed by a line of showers late this afternoon into tonight.
Isolated thunderstorms are also possible in southern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.

According to WFSB, “more showers and even storms develop” across southern Connecticut this afternoon.
“The coverage will expand northward during the evening and overnight hours,” WFSB reports. “The wet weather is in connection to a boundary that will be dropping across Southern New England. Then, as an area of low pressure rides along the boundary, rain becomes likely at night.”

Today will be warm, with high temperatures reaching around 70 degrees, but then Thursday will be much colder, meteorologists predict.
“Chilly and raw with temperatures mainly in the 40s on Thursday!” the National Weather Service reports.
According to WFSB, Thursday will have some early lingering showers, then will be mostly cloudy with some drizzle, with highs in the 40s.
The National Weather Service in Boston predicts several chances for rain through the end of the week.
“Temperatures will also range widely from day-to-day,” the National Weather Service said.
After Thursday’s cool down, Friday is expected to get warm again, with cloudy skies and temperatures in the low to mid 60s, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a chance for showers daily for Friday through Sunday.
For the weekend, expect daytime temperatures to reach into the 60s on Saturday and Sunday, according to WFSB.
“Sunday, Easter, starts off dry but ends wet as a cold front approaches and moves through the region. Showers, perhaps rumbles of thunder, seem most likely around and after sunset,” WFSB reports.

Today: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: Showers, mainly before 5 a.m. Patchy fog after 2 a.m. Low around 41. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before 2 p.m. Patchy fog before 2 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 46. East wind 10 to 13 mph.
