Town-By-Town State Bond Project Proposals
The state Bond Commission will meet Thursday to consider funding several local projects through bonding.
CONNECTICUT — The state Bond Commission will meet Thursday to consider approving bonds to fund several local projects.
Below are the proposal local project request amounts.
- Bloomfield: $1 million to help construct new Bloomfield Public Library.
- Bozrah: $5 million to extend sewer mains.
- Bridgeport: $4.1 million for the Beardsley Zoo for improvements to the tiger exhibit, greenhouse and relocation of the condor exhibit.
- Bridgeport: $2.5 million for construction of athletic fields.
- Brookfield: $350,000 for Regional YMCA of Western CT construction and Camp Greenknoll lodge building replacement.
- Cheshire: $1 million to clean brownfield Ball and Socket Manufacturing Co. site, preserve 3-acre historical complex and promote outdoor activities near Farmington Valley Linear Trail.
- East Haddam: $1.5 million for improvements to the Palmer-Warner House
- East Haddam: $1.4 million for new athletic complex.
- East Hartford: $556,000 for expansion of Intercommunity Healthcare of East Hartford.
- East Windsor: $800,000 for installation of lights and other improvements at town parks.
- Essex: $72,293 to help fund window replacements and Americans with Disabilities Act improvements at the Essex Library.
- Franklin: $5 million for sewer lines along Route 32.
- Glastonbury: $2 million to purchase land for conservation and open space purposes.
- Griswold: $1.2 million to Griswold to help construct a new senior center.
- Hamden: $1.35 million for Keefe Center upgrades and repairs.
- Hamden: $4.3 million to replace fire house with a modern facility.
- Hartford: $7.75 million for improvements to Pope Park and streetscape improvements.
- Hartford: $3 million to expand Blue Hills Civic Association facility.
- Hartford: $2.5 million for renovations to Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.
- Hartford: $750,000 to complete Greenwalk At Bushnell Gardens.
- Hartford: $2.5 million for Boys and Girls Club of Hartford to renovate Joseph D. Lapenta Northwest Boys and Girls Club.
- Hartford: $1 million for repairs of building listed in National Register of Historic Places.
- Hebron: $233,000 to replace roof at Douglas Library
- Hebron: $2 million to purchase a backup electric generator for RHAM High School, so facility can be used as a regional emergency center.
- Lisbon: $500,000 for sidewalk installation.
- Madison: $150,000 for American Legion Griswold Post renovations.
- Madison: $4 million to convert vacant school building into a community center.
- Manchester: $500,000 for maintenance of bridges, installation of crosswalk and flashing beacons at Laurel Marsh Park.
- Mansfield: $834,000 for upgrades to town hall and town offices.
- Meriden: $600,000 to replace traffic signals at West Main Street at Windsor Avenue and Centennial/Home Avenue.
- Middletown: $2 million to redevelop 545 Main St. downtown space, including affordable residential units and office space for startups.
- Middletown: $500,000 to fund study to find feasible condition between Air Line and Farmington Canal trails.
- Milford: $750,000 to create safe walkway along Wepawaug River underneath railroad crossing.
- Naugatuck: $100,000 for YMCA infrastructure updates.
- Naugatuck: $870,000 to install elevators in Brass City Charter School.
- New Britain: $500,000 for Main Street Connection Project.
- New Britain: $2.13 million for renovations at Wheeler Clinic Inc.
- New Britain-Berlin: $1.1 million for YMCA to install energy efficient windows and other improvements.
- New Canaan: $200,000 for non-profit ice skating rink in Waveny Park.
- New Haven: $1.34 million improvements to Farnam Neighborhood Center.
- New Haven: $500,000 for improvement to city facilities.
- New Haven: $1 million for flooding mediation along Route 122.
- New Haven: $2 million for Clifford Beers Resilience Academy of New Haven trauma-informed community wellness and education center.
- North Canaan: $3 million to construct a federally qualified health center.
- Norwalk: $3.5 million upgrades to accommodate bicycles at intersections of Wall Street, West Avenue, Belden Avenue and Mott Avenue.
- Portland: $501,000 to replace Portland Secondary School track.
- Putnam: $100,000 to rebuild elementary school playground.
- Rocky Hill: $500,000 to update Old Forge Road Bridge.
- Shelton: $5 million to provide a grant that would help extend Constitution Boulevard.
- Stamford: $950,000 for improvements to the Palace Theatre.
- Stamford: $1 million for renovations to Terry Connors Ice Rink.
- Stamford: $250,000 to construct kindergarten playscape at Toquam Magnet Elementary School.
- Stamford: $2 million for renovations of high school athletic fields.
- Stamford: $70,000 for security fencing at Boys and Girls Club of Stamford.
- Stratford: $3 million for redevelopment of the former Shakespeare Festival Theater.
- Thomaston: $400,000 for renovations to Seth Thomas Park.
- Torrington: $500,000 for riverfront redevelopment of former Torrington Manufacturing Company site.
- Trumbull: $1.5 million to help construct the Trumbull Veterans and First Responders Center.
- Trumbull: $734,000 to upgrade Thrushwood Lake Dam.
- Vernon: $2.5 million for rehabilitation and restoration of Fox Hill Memorial Tower.
- Waterbury: $1.49 million for Housing Development Fund Inc. Crownbrook Homeownership Initiative Redevelopment Project
- West Hartford: $3 million for new high school athletic facilities.
- Wethersfield: $4 million for improvements to street lighting, public parking, library and other infrastructure.
- Woodbridge: $2 million to convert former firehouse into community center.
