Tropical Storm Fay Lost Strength, Caused Few CT Issues
The storm quickly lost strength after it made landfall. Some isolated thunderstorms are possible later today.
CONNECTICUT — Tropical Storm Fay quickly lost strength once it made landfall in New Jersey. It caused few issues by the time it made it to Connecticut. Eversource reported around 1,100 power outages and United Illuminating reported less than 600 outages as of 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
The National Weather Service predicted two to three inches of rain for Fairfield County and parts of New Haven County, but those predictions didn't come true.
The western part of the state got half an inch of rain while the highest local total was in Stamford with just over an inch, according to NBC Connecticut.

A 49 mph gust of wind was observed in Greenwich around 4:30 p.m., according to the NWS.
