Avon BOE Tables Vote on High School Curriculum

Editor’s note: In case you missed this article during the week, here it is again. A very important matter in Avon Public Schools.

The Avon Board of Education has delayed taking a vote on a proposed change in high school curriculum.

One of the biggest changes would involve eliminating the lowest-level classes.

Some board members expressed concerns that the right support might not be into place for students who would be bumped up to a higher curriculum level, according to the Hartford Courant.

The board voted 5-4 to table the matter until March.

School administrators said they would push for differentiated instruction where students would work with students of different abilities in the same class.
