The Avon Board of Education voted to not adopt a calendar that was proposed by a regional educational group for next year.

The Avon Board of Education voted to not adopt a calendar that was proposed by a regional educational group for next year.

The calendar was prepared by the Capitol Region Education Council, according to the Hartford Courant.

The vote failed 5-4. Some members cited that they felt conforming to a uniform calendar would erode local control.
