Avon Community Fund Issues Open Call For Grant Applications
Inaugural grant offers up to $20,000 to benefit community
Avon’s Community Fund Advisory Committee is seeking applicants to receive up to $20,000 in grant funding for one or more proposals that serve Avon residents. This inaugural grant is part of a continuing $100,000 endowed fund established for Avon by the Hartford Foundation for Public
Giving in 2019. Every year, grants will be available through the Avon Community Fund to benefit Avon and our residents.
For further details on project guidelines and how to apply, please visit: www.hfpg.org/avoncf. Project applications will be accepted until Friday, May 14, 2021. Each applying organization may only submit one proposal.
Any nonprofit registered as a 501(c)(3) organization that serves the residents of Avon
is eligible to apply. Individuals and for-profit businesses are ineligible. Civic organizations that do not have a 501(c)(3) IRS designation are also ineligible to apply.
The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving established the community funds program to support residents in taking ownership around the needs in their towns, encourage broad and inclusive
civic engagement and anchor the Hartford Foundation in each town. Avon’s Community Fund Advisory Committee was selected in 2020. The list of current members is available here.

Avon’s Greater Together Community Fund Advisory Committee was selected by a public call for
applicants and an interview process. The committee’s role is to design and lead an inclusive process to identify the needs of our community and design a grantmaking process aimed at ensuring the Greater Together Community Funds have the greatest impact for the benefit of all Avon residents.
