Avon Firefighters Battle Two Fires

Update: Two dogs were killed in the Waterville Road blaze, according to WFSB.

Avon units are clearing from the second working structure fire today. At approximately 1030 a fire was reported on Reverknolls, UCONN Engine 1 and Rescue 2 arrived and reported smoke showing from the house and a fire on the second floor. Avon’s Engines 10 and 14, Ladder 12 and Tanker 5 responded on the assignment and were assisted by engines from Simsbury and East Farmington.

Overnight Engines 9,10 and 14 along with Ladder 12 and UCONN Engine 1 responded to a garage fire on Waterville Road. Members were able to make a quick stop of the fire. Further details are pending.
