Avon Old Farms Dedicates Football Season to Coach Frank DiCocco

Former Coach Frank DiCocco was also a mentor who dedicated his time to helping young men develop.

Avon Old Farms Schools will dedicate its 2014 Varsity Football season to former Coach Frank DiCocco.

The school is hosting a private pre-game reception to celebrate the life of DiCocco on Sept. 20. The first game of the season will kick-off at 3 p.m. on Sept. 20 against Brunswick, said school Director of Communications Michael Dembicer.

DiCocco was the founder of The H.O.P.E. Foundation for a Better Tomorrow, a non-profit that focuses on reaching out to young people, educators and coaches to promote positive opportunities and initiatives. DiCocco’s mission and legacy was carried on by his family after his passing.

DiCocco also contributed his time to many advocacy groups including The Good Man Project, The RAINN Organization and A Call to Men.
