Avon Police Warn Residents of Vehicle Crimes

AVON, CT - Avon police are warning residents about an increase in reported motor vehicle thefts and thefts of items inside motor vehicles.
Avon police said on Wednesday the incidents are not isolated to local roads. Other towns are experiencing similar increases in thefts, police said.
Avon police said they are working with other local and state agencies to investigate the criminal activity in the area.
Meanwhile, Avon police are urging residents to lock their car and truck doors, conceal items stored in vehicles and to not leave keys in vehicles. Many of the stolen vehicle were unlocked and the keys were in them, police said.
