Avon Residents Excel on Nationwide Tests

Six Avon residents have been named AP Scholars by the College Board.

West Hartford – Six Avon residents have been named AP Scholars by the College Board. Kyle Brooks ’15, Alice D’Arcangelo ’14, Katherine Garger ’14 and Jessica Jordano ’15 are among the 46 students from Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford to be named AP Scholars. James Jordano ’15 was named AP Scholar with Honor, while Connor Dunn ’14 was named AP Scholar with Distinction.

Students must earn scores of 3 or higher on three or more Advanced Placement Exams to be named an AP Scholar. To be designated an AP Scholar with Honor, students must earn an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and a score of 3 or higher on four or more of the exams. AP Scholars with Distinction must earn an average score of 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and a score of 3 or higher on five or more of the tests.
