Avon Schools Will Soon Get Solar Power
The high school and middle school will soon have solar panels installed.

The installation of solar panels at the Avon high and middle schools is set to start by the end of March.
The project’s design has been in the works for months by contractor Solar City, according to the Hartford Courant.

The town would buy electricity generated by the panels over the course of 15 years, which should save the town about $350,000.
Installation was delayed to ensure the middle school’s roof could support the weight of the panels and snow.
