Avon Superintendent Mala Answers Questions About Academic Proposals
Mala answered some frequently asked questions about proposed academic requirements for high school students.

Superintendent Gary Mala outlined the specifics proposed changes to high school graduation policies and grading in a letter to the school community.
Administrators proposed increasing the number of credits needed for graduation in order to comply with new state law, Mala wrote.
A new course in personal finance along with more diverse elective requirements, a two-year world language requirement and participating in a senior capstone project are also being proposed.

Another proposal involves eliminating the Academic level, which is the lowest at the school. That would leave students with Advanced Placement, Honors and College Preparatory.
