Avon VFW Post Receives National Community Service Recognition

The Avon VFW post led the state in community service projects.

AVON, CT — The Gildo T. Consolini Avon VFW Post 3272 has received a National Community Service Award for compiling the most community service work of any VFW Post in Connecticut during this past year.

The award was bestowed on the post last month.

This is the first time the Avon Post has received the award in its 71-year history.

Past Post Commander Lee M. Wilson, shown to the right of the plaque, traveled to Charlotte, NC in July to pick up the award at the VFW National Convention.
