Bingo Event In Avon To Help Ill Deputy Fire Chief
The Avon Lions Club Friday, March 28, is hosting 'Bingo Family Night' to raise money for the cancer-stricken AVFD deputy fire chief.
AVON, CT — The community's love for a beloved fire official in Avon will continue this Friday with the Avon Lions Club hosting a special community bingo fundraiser.
Proceeds of the club's "Family Bingo Night" on Friday, March 28, will benefit Avon Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Dave Theriault, who is battling stage 4 cancer.
The bingo games will take place at the Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Road, Avon, at 6:30 p.m., with prizes and fun on tap.

"Bring the family and join the Avon Lion's Club for an evening of excitement, camaraderie and the thrill of the win at bingo games," wrote the Avon Lions Club.
The event will feature 10 rounds of bingo games, with two cards being available for $25.

Theriault's battle has galvanized the community both in Avon and in surrounding towns, with a pasta dinner fundraiser helping out last month courtesy of Avon and Farmington fire departments.
