Connecticut Open Family Classic Comes to Avon July 2!

The Connecticut Open
Family Classic will take place at the Golf Club of Avon on July 2, and feature
local families competing to earn a spot in the Regional Tournament and
eventually the Finals, to take place August 21, 2014 in conjunction with the
Connecticut Open.

The
tournament will feature Father/Child and Mother/Child 12 & Under, 14 &
Under and 18 & Under age divisions; Parent/Child Open divisions for parents
with children over the age of 19 or under the age of 10; and a division for
Husband/Wife teams.

Winning
teams in each division will join top teams from other Connecticut Open Family
Classic Local Events at the Regional Tournament, to be held July 19-20, 2014 at
Yale University. The winners of the Regional Tournament will then have the
opportunity to compete alongside some of the world’s best tennis players at the
Connecticut Open on Thursday, August 21 in the Finals.

In 2013,
from April through July, more than 2,000 participants competed in more than 75
local events at tennis facilities throughout Connecticut, New England and New
York. The champions in each division were recognized on Stadium Court,
with a ceremony that included four-time Connecticut Open Champion Caroline
Wozniacki. The event, now in its fourteenth year, has seen participation grow
exponentially.
