CT Supreme Court Rules Against Victims of Truck Crash on Avon Mountain
Court: Victims of the Avon Mountain crash that killed four and injured 19 can't sue the state over road design and safety features.

Victims of the 2005 crash in which a truck hurtled 500 feet down an Avon Mountain road cannot sue the state for alleged inadequacies in the design or safety features of the road, the Connecticut Supreme Court ruled 5-1 in a decision announced Monday.
According to the Associated Press, two lawsuits, one filed by crash survivor Michael Cummings of New Hartford and another by Ellen Stotler of Avon, whose husband died in the crash, were dismissed by the court.
