
AVON, CT —The Avon Volunteer Fire Department’s old Engine 11 has been sold.
An undisclosed buyer picked it up at auction for $2,976, fire officials said.
Engine 11 is a Ford 8000/Middlesex pumper truck was built in 1984 and has 54,973 miles on it, according to the bid specifications. Its tank has a capacity of 750 gallons, according to the bid specifications. It is in "fair" condition, according to the bid specifications.

The minimum bid was $1,500 and the auction ran until Aug. 15.
