In-Store Fundraiser Includes All-Day Activities: Meet Rob Dibble and Children’s Book Authors

WHO: Lord & Taylor at Westfarms is turning clothes into cash for area non-profits.

WHAT: Shop Chic and Make It Count: A Fundraising Day is a one-day event hosted by Lord & Taylor in support of local fundraising for non-profit organizations. The first annual event at Westfarms will benefit 10 area non-profits, including: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Interval House, Prudence Crandall Center, Boys & Girls Club of Waterbury, UConn Health Auxiliary, Gardner’s House, Kenway’s Cause and more.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from participating non-profit organizations or at Lord & Taylor on October 9th. The ticket entitles you to in-store activities all day (listed below). In addition, each ticket includes two 25% bonus coupons, a 15% savings pass to be used throughout the day on almost everything and 10% off cosmetics and fragrances. Organizations keep 100% of proceeds from ticket sales, while customers experience the best savings of the season.

WHEN: Thursday, October 9th from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. all day events including:

9 AM – Join Fit for Mom for an in-store workout and healthy breakfast

10 AM – 12 PM – Meet Rob Dibble former major league Cincinnati Reds pitcher and two time all-star (’90 and ’91), World Series Champ, 1990 National League MVP and 97.9 ESPN radio host.

10 AM – Fit for the Cure to benefit Susan G. Komen

3:30 PM – Children’s authors Janet Lawler, Catherine Gibson and Karin Lefranc sign their award winning children’s books while Valentine the Clown entertains

5:30 PM – After work wine and restaurant tasting
