Updated Avon Weather Forecast, SATS Cancelled

Avon residents should prepare themselves for several inches of snow and other slippery wintry weather that will make its grand appearance Saturday.

Snowfall is likely mainly after 4 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Snow will change to a mix of rain, snow and sleet along with the possibility of freezing rain in the morning and afternoon.

The mix will then change back to all snow after 4 p.m. Winds can gust as high as 21 miles-per-hour.

There is a chance of snow Saturday night, mainly before 7 p.m.

Total accumulation could be anywhere between four and in excess of six inches for the day.

• Tonight Snow likely, mainly after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 26. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
• Saturday Rain, snow and sleet, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 4pm, then rain likely, possibly mixed with snow. High near 34. Light north wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
• Saturday Night A chance of snow before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. West wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
• Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
• Sunday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. North wind 3 to 8 mph.
