Suspect Arrested in Connection with Bank Robberies in Avon

The two bank robberies occurred within a two week period.

A man has been arrested in connection with two bank robberies in Avon.

According to police, a search and seizure warrant was obtained for a New Britain apartment that led to the arrest of Patryk Kornas, 40 on narcotics charges.

Subsequent to the search and seizure warrant, an arrest warrant was obtained for Kornas’ alleged involvement in the May 17 TD Bank Robbery, police said. Kornas may also be involved with the May 23 robbery at Northwest Community Bank, according to police.

Kornas was charged with possession of narcotics, four counts of first-degree robbery, four counts of first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery and third-degree larceny. He is being held on a $500,000 non-surety bond.
