It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of James S. Newman, 52, of Plainville on Thursday May 18, 2017 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut with his father and sister at his side.
Born in Meriden to the late Barbara Wrobel Newman and James A. Newman, Jimmy courageously fought a devastating disease, progressive myoclonic epilepsy most of his life. He graduated from Maloney High School in Meriden and worked with his father at the family’s businesses: Newman Bros, Amusements, the New Britain Bowling Center and he Sting Nightclub.
From a very young age he was very patriotic and enjoyed collecting flags and license plates from all over the world. He loved boating and traveling with his father on cruises and throughout the country to amusement and antique game shows, visiting naval bases, special events and especially to Boston where he cheered on his favorite team, the Red Sox.
