Berlin Police Laud Resident Who Helped Revive Neighbor

Resident Shelly Peterson is credited with helping police administer CPR to a stricken neighbor.

Kudos to two Berlin Police officers and a neighbor who revived a resident who fell unconscious last week.

According to a posting on their Facebook page, Berlin Police say they received a 911 call reporting that a person fell, was unconscious, and did not appear to be breathing on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Officers Ted Fuini and Cathy Griffin were dispatched to assist Hunter’s Ambulance. When Fuini arrived on the scene, a neighbor named Shelly Peterson assisted him with CPR until ambulance personnel and Griffin arrived on scene, police said.

The unidentified victim was resuscitated and had a pulse on arrival at the hospital.

In recognition of her compassion and assistance with life saving efforts, Fuini thanked Peterson and awarded her with a Community Officer Investment Network coin.

“Thank you Mrs. Peterson for contributing to the safety and welfare of our community and its members!,” police said.
