Berlin Turnpike Reopened After Motel Room Fire

The road was closed so that firefighters could access a water source to extinguish the fire.

Berlin firefighters battled a fire that was confined to a room at the Johnson’s Motel motel on the Berlin Turnpike Monday afternoon.

The fire prompted the temporary closure of Berlin Turnpike so firefighters could access a water source, according to NBC Connecticut.

The room was unoccupied at the time of the fire that was reported about 1:30 p.m., according to WFSB.
