Central CT Health District Budget Hearing

The Central Connecticut Health District (CCHD) will hold a public hearing on its proposed fiscal year 2011-2012 budget on Wednesday, March 17, 2011. The CCHD is the local health department serving the towns of Berlin, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield with a population of over 94,000 people. The organization's central office is located in the Wethersfield Town Hall.

The CCHD proposed budget shows the membership fee remaining the same at $4.06 per capita for the seventh year in a row, along with a slight increase in the overall population (0.25%) to 94,879 and a transfer of $105,331 from the Operating Reserve Fund to balance the budget. In addition, the agency's part-time salon inspector position is being eliminated, and hours for the health educator increased to full time. The budget also includes a number of grants to support district activities.

Please contact Director of Health Paul Hutcheon at (860) 721-2828 with any questions.
