Schaller Subaru Opens New Location in Berlin

Schaller Subaru has relocated its operation from Middletown to Berlin.  Its new location at 34 Frontage Road opened to the public on Monday, January 23, 2012.

Art Schaller, Jr., President of Schaller Subaru stated, “We are very excited to be a part of the Berlin community.  This newly renovated facility is 50 percent larger than our former building and it has more than twice as much parking than the old facility.  This will allow us to better serve our growing customer base.”

The Schaller Family has a long history in Central Connecticut and is happy to be expanding its presence in the area. Schaller Auto World has been a family operated New Britain business institution and community partner for 59 years.  The company was founded in 1953 by Mr. Schaller’s grandparents, Gustave and Louise, as a small, family-owned dealership designed to serve the automotive needs of a growing community.

The Schaller family of dealerships employs more than 175 people at its dealerships in New Britain, Manchester, and now Berlin. Schaller expects to be adding additional employees to its Subaru team as it grows into this new facility.

Berlin Mayor Adam Salina, State Representative Joe Aresimowicz, State Senator Terry Gerratana and Economic Development Manager Jim Mahoney were on hand on Monday, January 23 to cut the ribbon and open the dealership. “I am grateful to the tremendous cooperation and business-friendly attitude that the town and the state have shown” said Mr Schaller. “We intend to be here for many generations to come. I’d like to especially thank the entire team at the Department of Motor Vehicles for their help with this relocation.” 

Schaller Auto World operates four dealerships in the greater Hartford area. Its Honda, Mitsubishi, Auto Body and Kar Kare (detail) operations are in New Britain, its Acura dealership is in Manchester and its Subaru dealership is now open in Berlin. Mr. Schaller is the President of Schaller Auto World and serves as Chairman of the Board of the Connecticut Automotive Retailers Association.
