BERLIN, CT — The Town of Berlin marked the start of the golf season last week with a ceremonial first drive by a 100-year-old resident at its municipal course.
On April 3, Willie D’Amato, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday, hit the opening ball at Timberlin Golf Course, 330 Southington Road, Berlin, to kick off the season.
Town officials described the moment as a highlight of opening day, noting D’Amato remains an active golfer.

The town thanked course staff, municipal employees and local officials who helped organize the event, calling it a strong start to the season at Timberlin.
