2 Unlocked Cars Stolen In Bethel: Police
Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles and keep their keys in their homes following the theft of two cars from Bethel.
BETHEL, CT — Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles and keep their keys in their homes following the theft of two cars from Bethel.
On January 12, the Bethel Police Department received reports of a 2015 Kia Soul and 2010 Honda Odyssey stolen in the area of Old Hawleyville Road. The owner of the Honda told police he heard someone in his driveway in the early morning hours.
Officer from the New Haven Police Department later recovered the Kia. Police charged Tyrone Felton, 21, and Tivon Edwards, 19, both of New Haven, with second-degree larceny.

The stolen Honda was recovered in New Castle, NY. Bethel detectives recognized the suspect seen in video surveillance footage leaving the vehicle as a New Haven juvenile with a history of motor vehicle thefts, according to their report. That investigation is still ongoing, but police say an arrest is anticipated.
Both stolen cars were left unlocked with their keys inside, according to the Bethel PD.
