Area Firefighters Converge for Rescue on I-84

A multi-car crash ended in someone trapped inside an overturned mini-van.

BETHEL, CT — Rescue crews from around the area came to the aid of a person trapped inside an overturned mini-van on Saturday.

Stony Hill and Bethel Fire Departments responded to a report at around 11 p.m. of a two-car collision in Bethel on Interstate 84 between Exits 8 and 9. Bethel fire officials called in crews from Danbury and Brookfield to assist.

First responders on the scene found two vehicles on the side of the road, and one person still trapped inside an overturned mini-van.

According to Stony Hill officials, "All units worked together to stabilize the car with Res-Q-Jacks and then remove the victim through the windshield. Stony Hill EMS transported the patient, who was in stable condition."
