STAMFORD —On Monday, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on European Affairs, and the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) will host a conference with local businesses and government officials to highlight export opportunities in Eastern Europe. During the “Opportunity Eastern Europe” conference, businesses will have an opportunity to meet with Eastern European and U.S. government officials to discuss opportunities for strengthening economic ties between the United States and Eastern and South Eastern Europe.

The conference will feature a keynote address by Samantha Power, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Power will speak about current geopolitical factors at play in Eastern Europe and their impact on economic and diplomatic relationships with the United States. In addition to Ambassador Power, the conference will feature panel discussions by Josip Paro, U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, foreign government officials, representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export-Import Bank of the United States, the U.S. Department of State, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) will also address the conference.
