Bethel Eatery Re-Opens After Flood Closed Business for Nearly a Year: Report

The restaurant re-opened after an extensive renovation, but it kept its rustic roots in mind.

BETHEL, CT — Portofino Restaurant & Wine Bar in the Dolan Plaza Shopping Center has re-opened after a sprinkler malfunction led to a devastating flood which closed the business for nearly a year, reports the Connecticut Post.

After the flood in January of 2016, Owners Louie and Rocco Selmanti thought they would be closed for just two weeks. However, the closure lasted until January of 2017 following an extensive renovation.

The building's Landlord told the Connecticut Post that investors had inquired about the location while the owners were forced to close, but that the owners were adamant about re-opening the business.
