• Bethel football opens season with win over Bassick in Bridgeport program's SWC debut (newstimes.com) — Bethel High's football team kicked off its season with a dominant 34-14 win over Bassick in Bridgeport, showcasing a now-experienced junior-heavy lineup. Standout freshman Khalil Hunt scored twice, including a pick-six, and junior quarterback Thomas Bornn added both rushing and passing touchdowns. Bethel now turns its focus to hosting East Haven next Friday night.
