Bethel Fire Marshal Determines Cause of Deer Run Blaze
The resident suffered minor injuries while attempting to extinguish the fire.

BETHEL, CT — The fire marshal has determined the cause of the blaze at 13 Deer Run on Saturday, Nov. 24 was accidental in nature, caused by improperly disposed of material.
The fire, which occurred around 5:30 p.m., started in the second floor bedroom and spread into the hall and surrounding rooms of the second floor. The resident suffered minor injuries while attempting to extinguish the fire.
The occupant was alerted to the fire by the presence of a smoke alarm. The fire marshal is encouraging residents to have at least one detector on each level of a home.
