Bethel Firefighters Battle Condo Complex Blaze
The fire broke out in the complex's garage
BETHEL, CT — Firefighters raced to contain a fire before it spread to a condo complex on Wednesday night.
Around 9:30 p.m., Bethel Fire & EMS and Stony Hill answered a call for a fire at the Plumtrees Heights condo complex. First responders found a blaze in the garage, with fire extending to the unit.
Bethel Engine 5 arrived on scene shortly after, and stretched a hose line into the front door of the unit, with hopes of cutting off fire spread into the unit itself.

The garage had been converted into a bedroom, according to a Stony Hill spokesperson.
The plan was successful, a Bethel Fire & EMS spokesperson wrote on Facebook. Firefighters were able to keep the blaze contained to the garage area, and no fire spread to adjacent units. Once the spread of the fire was contained, firefighters remained on the scene knocking down hot spots.
