Bethel Police Welcome New K-9 Officer

The new K-9 officer, an as-yet unnamed 16 month-old German Shepherd, was born in the Czech Republic

BETHEL, CT — The Bethel Police Department is welcoming its newest K-9 recruit.

The as-yet unnamed 16 month-old German Shepherd was born in the Czech Republic and was purchased through Kennel Zo Slovenskeho Dvora, according to the BPD.

Officer Gregory Ammon and his new K-9 partner will be attending a 12-week training program in East Hartford starting next month. The training will consist of obedience, building searches, evidence recovery, narcotics detection, suspect apprehension, and tracking.
