Bill 'Red' Scollon Passed Away on June 4
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during in the Korean War, and was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Bethel.

Bill “Red” Scollon of Bethel, CT passed away peacefully June 4th, 2015 with his loving family by his side. Bill was born on November 20, 1928, and spent the first half of his life in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen. He was 86 years young.
He was the son of the late Ella (Dwyer) and William Scollon. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Patricia (McGarry) along with their four daughters and their families. Cathy & Augie Ciresi and their sons Ryan and Matt. Barbara & Paul Ruscoe and their children Amber and PJ, Sharon and Bob McCauley and their daughters Megan & Kelly and Nancy & Chuck Corso and their children Emily and John. He is also survived by his sister Marian and her husband Jack Reddy and his brother Pat and his wife Annie Scollon. He was predeceased by his sister Eleanor.

He worked for Reinhold/Penton Publishing for over 45 years. He was an avid sports fanatic and especially loved playing tennis. He also loved rooting for his favorite team The Boston Red Sox. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
He proudly served in the US Army during in the Korean War, and was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Bethel. Bill was a talented artist and loved taking and sharing pictures of family and friends. Bill was known for his sense of humor and shared a laugh with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial [was held on] Monday [June 7] at 10:00 am at St Mary’s Church in Bethel. Interment will follow at St Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut, 39 Old Ridge bury Rd., Danbury CT 06810 or to a charity of one’s choice.
