Boy Scout Collecting Eyeglasses for Eagle Scout Project
Eyeglass collection boxes will be available in Bethel until Sept. 30, 2015.

A local Boy Scout is collecting old glasses of all types for New Eyes for the Needy for his Eagle Scout project. Eyeglasses may be dropped off at Above All Syle, 71 Stony Hill Road, Bethel, right next to Pete’s Deli. Collection boxes will be available until Sept. 30, 2015.

New Eyes for the Needy is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1932 to improve the vision of the poor. New Eyes operates primarily through volunteer efforts and is overseen by a Board of Trustees. The paid staff consists of an Executive Director, U. S. Voucher Program Coordinator and part-time Community Relations Coordinator. Recycling programs, including the sorting, testing and packaging of used glasses, are operated by hundreds of adult and student volunteers. New Eyes is a United Way Agency.
