Cadets of the Bethel Navy JROTC recently attended the Navy League annual dinner and received a brief on current events and maritime strategy. The presentation by Rear Admiral John Weigold, who serves as the Deputy Director for Operations at U.S. Pacific Command in Pearl Harbor Hawaii, covered numerous topics relevant to the cadets' studies, including recent actions taken by China in the East China Sea. Bethel's Battalion Commander, Cadet Romana Pilepich, who hopes to study international diplomacy in college, said, "It was interesting to hear about current events from someone who is closely linked to our nation's strategy in the Pacific Rim region."
