Enjoy an afternoon of wine, food, and music in support of the Connecticut Choral Society! Broadway, jazz, and original songs!

Benefit Concert for the Connecticut Choral Society in Bethel

The public is invited to attend a benefit concert on behalf of the Connecticut Choral Society on Sunday, March 19th, 4 pm at Spark Arts (137 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel). The afternoon will feature Lana and Lenny Levine performing Broadway, jazz, and original songs. Howard Rovics will accompany Ms. Levine. Wine and light refreshments will be served. The suggested contribution is $25 (payable at the door). Since seating is limited, attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

The talented Lana Levine was the lead female singer in the Grammy award-winning group, The Serendipity Singers, an American folk group that had several major hits and TV appearances in the sixties. She has appeared both on and off Broadway, and played the ingénue opposite Katharine Hepburn in the National Company of "Coco."

Lenny Levine is a local professional musician (who sang backup for Billy Joel and Peggy Lee) and published writer whose songs have been performed and recorded by some of music’s greats: Diana Ross, The Pointer Sisters, and Barry Manilow. He will be performing his original songs.

Pianist, organist, and composer Howard Rovics is a Professor Emeritus of music having retired from 33 years of full-time college teaching at the School of the Arts on the C.W.Post Campus of Long Island University. He holds a Masters Degree from the Manhattan School of Music followed by studies in composition with the late Stefan Wolpe and further postgraduate work at the NYU Film School and the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center.
