ABOUT THE SHOW

Like, no duh, it's going to be a totally tubular night!

Aaah, the 80's - that happy little decade between social activism and self-loathing grunge.  Back when the Coreys were king and Kirk Cameron hadn't been left behind.  When Cabbage Patch Kids spawned Garbage Pail Kids, and we liked it. From the obscure to the obvious to the no-no-notorius, (from http://www.liketotally80s.com/)

Love it or hate it, you'll never forget this decade.  The fashion was obnoxious, the music was totally rad, the movies were gnarly and everything else was, like, totally awesome, fer sure.

Here's your chance to relive your glory (or re-invent your not-so-glory) days.  All of the acting will be done by volunteers in our community.  There is no script - just an outline and a desire to have a lot of fun.  Please see the Characters page if you're interested in being part of the night.

No worries of you don't want an acting part. Come in costume or come as you are, but join us for a night of who-dun-it 80's style and help raise some money for the American Cancer Society.

Like, we're totally stoked for you to join this event.  Now, Where's the Beer?

Like, Oh my Gosh ... Murder! A Radical Murder Mystery, Fer Sure!

Polly Abdool is hosting a totally tubular album release party for her friend, Debbie Gribson. Debbie Gribson, a top international pop idol, is scheduled to release her new album, Eclectic Youth, along with a new fragrance line of the same name! The celebrity guests are going to be hitting the scene in outrageous '80s fashion to enjoy a relaxing appetizer hour full of challenging '80s trivia and '80s dance contests.

With the exception of a few possible scuffles between catty guests, the party's going to be totally radical! The great food mixed with fun challenges are going to get the guests into an enjoyable, competitive state of mind. Unfortunately, those same party guests are going to be totally 'grossed out to the max' when somebody is murdered!

THE CHARACTERS

POLLY ABDOOL
American Pop Idol and Choreographer
Polly Abdool is the peculiar pop idol wife of Nork from Pork. An avid cartoon fan, she has a fascination with drawing cartoon cat characters. She is a fun-loving girl but it seems that after she married Nork two years ago, she started going a little nutzo!

NORK FROM PORK
Eccentric Television Star
Nork is the one of the most bizarre television actors in Hollywood! Rumor has it that he was a normal struggling actor that got lucky landing the television sitcom role of a stranded alien on the planet Earth. Seven years later, Nork has assumed the identity of the fictional character and lives his life on Earth by the ways of Pork…both on and off the television set!

TONI OREGANO
American Pop Idol and Choreographer
Toni Oregano came out of the woodwork with her hit cheerleading themed single ‘Hey Dickie!’ The world is awaiting another hit from this pop diva…but it’s been two years and she’s still wearing the cheerleading suit! Could it be that she is too busy with her Mogwai Rescue?!

DEBBIE GRIBSON
American Teen Idol
Debbie Gribson is an intolerable, high-maintenance teen idol pop star. She is known by Hollywood insiders as being difficult to work with and she’s extremely demanding. Because of her fame and success, she gets whatever she wants from her troupe. Toni Oregano is the only one that she considers to be a true friend to her.

DANNY SON
Karate Champion
Danny Son is the American black belt karate champion. He was raised by a single mother in a poor neighborhood but was taken in by an old karate master who trained him to become the most feared karate competitor in the nation.

LINDY LAUPER
Eccentric Singer & Songwriter
Lindy Lauper is a fun-loving and eccentric American pop star. She is known for her ever-changing colorful hair and crazy clothing as well as her unique high-pitched voice! Just about every teenage girl has a Lindy Lauper cassette in her cassette player!

ALLIGATOR DUNDEE
Australian Wilderness Expert
Alligator Dundee is quickly rising to international fame with his rugged charm and uncanny alligator handling skills. He is known in Australia as an alligator hunter and charismatic wilderness guru, but in America, these attributes have landed him a spot in Hollywood as an upcoming film star!

WEE PEE VERMON
Television & Film Star
Wee Pee Vermon is the goofy television host of the children’s show ‘Welcome to Wee Pee’s Clubhouse.’ Wee Pee’s silly fashion, weird face makeup, and addictive laughter has made him one of the leading children’s television actors in America.

More Characters will be available ONLY if all of the above characters are filled.

TO BE A CHARACTER

So you caught the acting bug, did you? Righteous.

-- If you'd like to play one of the characters, you need to first contact Allison for availibility. They'll be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

-- You don't get to choose which character you want. This will be decided by Allison, and you'll be notified by her.

-- There are additional characters roles but the original 8 must be filled first. Allison will add the additional character descriptions to the Characters page as needed.

-- You'll be required to sign a legal form stating you WILL show up on the day of the event, and, in the event of an emergency, will try your best to find someone to replace your role as your character.

-- The game is centered on the characters interacting with themselves, but also with the guests. You must be able to do this and have fun.

-- Once you've committed to a character, you'll be sent wardrobe suggestions for your character. You're expected to arrive at the event in costume (and character) and remain so until the game is over. It's up to you as to how extreme your costume is, but you need to make a good effort! A description of each character is under the Characters page.

-- About a week or so prior to the event, you'll be sent some of the objectives your character will need to achieve (i.e. who you need to talk to, what info needs to be overheard, etc.). You'll receive this information when you arrive, too, but this way you might want to form a strategy beforehand.

-- You won't know you are the victim until you arrive, and you won't know you are the killer until half-way through the game.

-- To show appreciation, those who play a character will get a $10 discount on their ticket (i.e. $40/person instead of $50). Wish it could be more, but this is a fundraiser after all!  Please choose the character option when buying your ticket. Tickets are not available at the door. You can see you payment choices here.

-- You MUST confirm your character status by April 4.
