Operation Sweet Tooth 2013 "Mission Accomplished"

The 4th annual Operation Sweet Tooth is a success.  The Bethel Navy JROTC cadets, together with many children of Bethel and with the help of the Bethel Gentle Dental office, collected candy after Halloween and sent it to our "Ambassadors of Bethel" serving overseas.  This was a gesture of good will which we hope had a lasting impression on the children here in Bethel and overseas.  Candy was sent to Army Major Timothy Christensen in Afghanistan, who sent back these photos of the children enjoying the candy.  The Major reported back saying "Thank you for the four boxes of candy you sent our team.  We were able to distribute the candy to Afghan children in Kabul on 11 Dec. Attached are photo's of the event and one photo of our team.  We were unable to get a group shot of the children with the candy, they were too interested in eating it to wait for a photo."

Candy was also sent to former Bethel cadets including Army 1st Lt. Lauren Ward (Valenti) in Kuwait, USMC Sgt. Kirsten Battocchio an embassy guard in Uganda, and Air Force Captain Zach White who flies C-17's in and out of the Mideast region.
