Police are seeking the public's assistance in their investigation of a fatal hit-and-run crash late Friday afternoon in Bethel.

BETHEL, CT — Police are seeking the public's assistance in their investigation of a fatal hit-and-run crash late Friday afternoon.

A man was struck and killed by an "unknown vehicle" near the Stony Hill Diner, traveling westbound on Route 6 around 4:40 p.m., according to the Bethel Police Department. The roadway was subsequently closed between Garella Road near the 7-11 and Benedict Road at the Microtel Inn & Suites, according to the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

Officials have not yet identified the pedestrian who was killed.
