Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra String Quartet Brings Music to Redding
Program Previews Orchestra Performance on October 3rd
The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra absolutely loves our community. And we were “sharing the love” on Friday, September 25th when a string quartet comprised of members of the orchestra performed a special program at Meadow Ridge in Redding.
RSO musicians Nina Crothers and Corinne Metter, violin; Suzanne Corey-Sahlin, viola; and Gunnar Sahlin, cello, performed a program of Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Borodin and Kreisler before a large and appreciative audience. Not only was great music in abundance, but wine & cheese, great conversation and good cheer as well!
The program was a prelude to the RSO’s Season opening performance on Saturday, October 3rd, 8:00 pm, at Ridgefield High School’s Anne S. Richardson Auditorium. The October 3rd RSO concert features Tchaikovsky’s immortal Fourth Symphony; Mendelssohn’s virtuosic First Piano Concerto, featuring soloist Jason Hardink; and Borodin’s popular Polovtsian Dances. With three of the same composers on both programs, the Meadow Ridge performance was an appetizer of sorts, with the upcoming world-class RSO performance truly a smorgasbord of musical delights!
