Suspect in Bethel Woman's Murder Given Ultimatum
Police arrested the suspect for the murder of 25-year-old Emily Todd in Bridgeport last December.
BETHEL, CT — The Ohio man accused of murdering a young Bethel woman will be given the choice of pleading guilty or going to trial, the News-Times reported.
Judge Joan Alexander informed Brandon Roberts, 27, of his choice on Wednesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
Police arrested Roberts for the murder of 25-year-old Emily Todd in Bridgeport on Dec. 8, 2018. He also faces charges for felony murder, first-degree robbery and carrying a pistol without a permit. Roberts pleaded not guilty to the charges in January.

Police report that Roberts lured Todd to a boat ramp in Bridgeport after connecting with her through an online dating app.
Roberts will be given the choice between a trial and changing his plea when he returns to Bridgeport Superior Court on Jan. 8.
