Although the videos presented on Patch recently showing the candidates Mr. Duff and First Selectman Knickerbocker speaking separately are one way we can hear about what the candidates represent, I would like to see a real-time live debate between the candidates to present their platforms. This should also include a question and answer period afterwards where residents can state their concerns and see what the candidates have to say about those issues. The other two candidates, Selectman Szatkowski and Selectman Straiton, could participate as well.
The event could take place in the Municipal building or perhaps in a school auditorium. There should be a moderator/host to keep things running smoothly and to ensure both candidates get the same amount of time to address the issues. (Any suggestions as to whom that unbiased person could be? Perhaps a local judge might be willing to host?)
