There are many more issues, but this video says much.
There has also been a News Times article giving an inaccurate spin to the sign-taking ignominious incident of First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker. Republican Committee Chairman Paul Improta was there, he knows the truth of what actually happened. See his comments all over Bethel Patch on these issues.
The News Times makes it sound like Matt was taking inventory or land surveys, when in fact he got caught taking the opponent's (Duff/Szatkowski) signs, as those were the only signs in his town-owned car when he was caught by Improta, who happened to see him taking the signs, a fact the News Times conveniently misinterpreted.
Then there's the News Times MK endorsement. Why shouldn't they think he is dandy?
---They don't know that he promises us the world but does not deliver.
---They don't live here and see the repairs needed.
---They don't pay our taxes.
---They don't see the mounting empty storefronts on our main street and beyond.
---They don't see the lack of maintenance of simple items like signage and lamp posts etc. (lack of which makes our town look shabby and NOT chic!)
---They are not inconvenienced by road closures for over 9 months, with construction trash just dumped in neighborhoods.
---They don't have roadsides dug up then left that way to give the appearance projects are moving forward, but are basically abandoned unless someone complains.
---They don't put up with loud noise at 3 a.m. because we have no noise ordinance.
---Their water company was not almost sold out from under them.
---They don't have beautiful trees on a ridge ripped away to leave a raped ridge.
---They did not have a large company move away from Bethel and take jobs too.
---They don't have properties that allow hunting but have no signage warning about danger to non-hunting residents (including adults, children and also pets too) who walk there.
---They don't have school children on buses with hunters firing weapons on a property that bus passes, and Knickerbocker does nothing to protect the children.
---They don't have a man who ignores residents when they point out safety issues or any of the above.
---They don't know the secrecy with which this administration operates, and we pay the price.
---And more.
---And now the sign caper.
What kind of man does this stuff??? (a desperate man). They are backing a man who does not care about the residents, just wants to stay in power, but how could they know that? They don't live here. We do.
We need a change.
